Zarenthor

The Conquered Half

The conquered half of the Elindrath Kingdom, and it has never forgotten it. To the north, sheer cliffs drop to The Narrows, the sea chasm separating Aldor from the Valdmere Empire. Zarenthor sits on the edge of that drop.

Background

Zarenthor joined the Elindrath Kingdom through betrayal, not war. Their ruler came to a diplomatic meeting in good faith and found an army already in position. He surrendered to save his people. He was killed anyway. The memory persists, not in open rebellion, but in songs with meanings that aren't quite what they appear, and in certain families, in certain villages.

The Elindrath court considers the matter settled. Every Zarenthian who hears that word feels something tighten in their chest.

Character

Zarenthor's cliffs and ground are rich in gemstones, ore, and minerals, the reason Elindra wanted it in the first place. These resources flow south. Zarenthians mine them.

People

Primarily human. A small Half-orc settlement lives on the border with The Whispering Forest, displaced from inside it by something they won't describe.
